Less
than a kilometre from La Cesa there is a well stocked supermarket
with fresh bread everyday, very good quality meat and delicatessen
counters and a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables.
There is also the local bar with shaded seating outside which offers
a selection of foreign newspapers. Next door is a pizzeria with a take-away service.
The area is well served by a large number of restaurants, pizzerie
and trattorie with a good range of prices and freshly prepared local
dishes.
La Cesa is also near two of the best known Italian wine producing
areas: Chianti and Montepulciano.
For those who wish to be more active or adventurous, there are local
tennis courts, horse riding, bicycle and scooter hire, and interesting
hill walking routes.
For those not wanting to travel too far, Cortona and Camucia, where
there are good shopping facilities, are just ten minutes by car.
Lake Trasimeno, with its ferries to the islands and water sport facilities
as well as restaurants which offer fish from the lake, is fifteen
minutes away.
Arezzo is half an hour away. Here there is the now famous Piero della
Francesco fresco cycle and many other treasures. It also has a good
selection of shops selling fashion and jewellery. |
